FAQs

What happens during the first session?

In your initial session, we’ll walk through your biopsychosocial assessment, which helps me gain a comprehensive understanding of your background, current concerns, and overall mental health. This includes exploring your emotional, physical, social, and psychological experiences.

Will we talk about my specific concerns right away?

Yes. While we’ll be covering foundational information, I also take time to thoroughly assess your presenting concerns and any symptoms you've reported. Your comfort is important, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.

How interactive is the first session?

Therapy with me is a collaborative process, and even from the first session, I encourage openness and active engagement. This is your space to be heard, seen, and supported without judgment. While some goals may begin to take shape, the first session is primarily focused on understanding you as a whole person. Goal-setting typically unfolds naturally as we continue to work together and develop a clearer picture of your needs.
